![]() Our work actively supports the healthcare labour force but does not involve clinical patients. ![]() ![]() We are continuing to operate throughout the pandemic, delivering competency assessments in a simulation centre. NCAS is an essential service, with strict COVID-19 Health and Safety protocols in place. The Technician also assists in setting up and tearing down simulation environments as needed. The Technician is responsible for operating assessment simulators, creating audio and video recordings of assessment activities, and ensuring appropriate management of physical and digital assessment materials. The NCAS Technician works behind the scenes of the NCAS Assessment by providing technical support in a variety of areas. The NCAS Assessment is a comprehensive, multifaceted competency assessment that evaluates strengths and gaps in entry-level competencies, helps determine readiness to practice, and provides direction for remediation. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, administers the NCAS Assessment for four healthcare professions. The Nursing Community Assessment Service (or “NCAS”), through its Assessment Centre at the Centre for Nursing Studies in St. Note: The majority of NCAS assessments take place on Saturdays, with the occasional Sunday.
